Hearing Aid Technology ... There are essentially two levels of hearing aid technology, analog, or conventional, and digital. Analog has been around for decades and provides limited adjustment capability for hearing loss. Analog is the least expensive of the two. Digital technology is more sophisticated and gives the audiologist maximum control over sound quality and sound processing characteristics. Digital technology allows the audiologist to customize the sound of your hearing aids to what you need and want to hear.

For most people with hearing loss, binaural (two) hearing aids offer substantial improvement under both quiet and noisy conditions, along with a better sense of direction for locating the sound source.

There are different styles of hearing aids for you to choose from. Your degree of hearing loss, power and option requirements, manual dexterity ablilities, cost factors, and cosmetic concerns are some of the factors that determine which style you select.

(RIC) Receiver-In-Canal - Comfortable open fit, sleek desgn, barely visible when worn, for mild to moderate high frequency hearing loss, excellent for phone use, mPower available for moderate to severe hearing loss, may be difficult to manipulate for people whose dexterity and vision are not what they use to be
(ITC) In-The-Canal/(HS) Half-Shell -for mild to moderately severe hearing loss, may be difficult to manipulate for people whose dexterity and vision are not what they use to be
(mini RIC) mini Receiver-In-Canal - Comfortable fit, sleek design, barely visible when worn, touch control panel, for mild to moderate hearing loss, mPower version available for moderate to severe hearing loss, may be difficult to manipulate for people whose dexterity and vision are not what they use to be
(ITE) In-The-Ear - Easy to adjust, for mild to severe hearing loss, use with phone may be more challenging, more noticeable cosmetically
(BTE) Behind-The-Ear - Touch control panel, discreet, barely visible design, for moderate to severe hearing loss, also available in mini, Power, and Power Plus options
Financing ... Hearing aid prices range from $950.00 to $2,900.00 per hearing instrument depending on style, size, and performance. Many United Mine Workers policies and Workers' Compensation will cover the cost of hearing aids and related services. Medicare and most commercial insurances do not cover hearing aids and related services. In this case, we have four different payment options, including 0% financing.
